Well, no version of Sherlock Holmes had a theme tune as memorable as Eye Level. VAN Der Valk is a highly anticipated brand new ITV remake of the 1970's dutch detective series set in Amsterdam and starring Marc Warren. Eye Level is a 1972 single by the Simon Park Orchestra.



Van Der Valk arrived on TV screens this evening and viewers settled in to the second edition of the show's return. The 2020 Van Der Valk theme tune is named Dutch Detective, made with a piano melody that gives a nod to the 1972 original without being an exact copy of the initial masterpiece. ITV have released this new 2020 trailer for Van Der Valk featuring music by English indie pop band London Grammar. T here were two dead bodies in the opening minutes of the Van Der Valk remake (ITV), but the first casualty was the theme tune. Fans have been buzzing about the revival of Amsterdam-set detective series Van Der Valk, but critics so far are not so convinced. In the advert trailer we see the return of British actor Marc Warren as a dutch detective and Maimie McCoy as Lucienne Hassell. But it has left some viewers fuming with a contemporary take on the original theme tune. It was produced originally for the De Wolfe Music Library and selected by Thames Television to be the theme tune for their Netherlands based detective series, Van der Valk . ITV's reboot of hit crime drama series Van Der Valk premiered tonight, but some fans were left bitterly disappointed after the show's "iconic" theme music had been scrapped.
