The Avalon Marshes Centre sits at the heart of Somerset’s Avalon Marshes. The objective was to re-create vital reedbeds and help the struggling bittern population in the UK. The centre is well equipped for visitors, and was very impressed with how they have accommodated for the disabled visitors.
Waterfowl and waterbirds that use these areas are usually frightened away from their nests. The Avalon Marshes, a magical wetland landscape, lies at the heart of Somerset’s Levels and Moors.
